Under local anaesthesia, the Shang Ring is placed in position and the foreskin is then cut using surgical scissors. The Shang Ring consists of an inner and outer ring, and acts as a clamp against the skin. The Shang Ring is left in place for 10 to 14 days, after which the patient returns for a follow up and the ring is then removed.

  • Full recovery takes around 4 to 6 weeks.

  • Immediately after the Circumcision procedure, you are able to walk normally, drive and take public transportation. You can shower on the same day, and there will be no issues with passing urine.

    However, it is advisable to only resume full physical activities including exercise 4 to 6 weeks after the procedure. Sexual intercourse and masturbation can only resume 4 to 6 weeks after the procedure.
